Week Starting 4th January

Hello and welcome back! Hope you've all had a great break, enjoyed the snow and managed to make some progress with your media work....

We are now embarking on our penultimate week - in other words, you have this week and next to get a good product finished....

The first session back, I will be auditing where you are at - you should have all your footage by now. If not, I may need to make referrals and you may need to come up with an emergency Harry Houdini plan.

The main focus for the week is to create your rough cut for me to see by Friday. This means you need to put all your footage on the timeline in the order you want it to appear, together with the music and captions. you will also need to do some cutting work, so that it flows. I would then like you to save the rough cut and place it in your blog, so I can leave some feedback and you could get a few friends to offer some feedback and record this too. This will then allow you to see if the story communicates clearly and what you need to do to make it even better - fine tune editing next week!

The other task is to investigate titles and where to use them - I have a sheet for you on this. This can be done outside of class - each of you could find an opening for a similar product to yours, place a clip in the blog and describe what titles are used and when/how placed. You can then decide in class, what titles you will use and where they will go and add a short post about this too.

You have a lot to do this week, so no time wasting or messing about please. This is for 50% of your grade and no one has a rough cut yet - it is only at this stage that we can see if your product actually works or not ....
